Sprouts

Ages 2 - 3.5

The Lilliputian School’s program for children ages 2 to 3.5 years is a gentle, nurturing introduction to school. The Sprouts program focuses on play, movement, language and connection, supporting young children where they are, as they build trust, confidence, and independence in a warm, predictable environment.

Supporting Early Growth

Nature as the Classroom
Children spend significant time outdoors each day, using natural spaces to explore, move, and discover at their own pace.

Play-Based Learning
Open-ended play supports early social, emotional, and cognitive development while allowing children to follow their interests.

Movement and Exploration
Movement is essential at this age. Children climb, balance, carry, and explore, building physical confidence and coordination.

Montessori-Inspired Environments
Indoor spaces are thoughtfully prepared with materials that encourage concentration, independence, and fine motor development.

Nurturing Relationships
Consistent, experienced educators provide warmth and guidance, helping children feel safe, supported, and connected.

The Sprouts Day

Arrival & Morning Circle
Our mornings begin gently, with time to settle in and connect. Children gather for songs, stories, and simple movement, helping create a sense of comfort, routine, and belonging.

Open Play & Exploration
Children engage in choosing Montessori inspired materials during the morning work cycle. This space is thoughtfully prepared with materials for language, math, practical life, art and science. This time supports independence, early social skills, and curiosity through child-led exploration.

Outdoor Play
Daily outdoor time is an essential part of the Sprouts experience. Children explore nature through free play and sensory-rich activities that support physical development and confidence. Twice a week they participate in their own TimberNook experience!

Rest & Quiet Time
After a full morning of play, children transition into rest and quiet time. This calm period allows bodies and minds to recharge in a nurturing, predictable environment.

Closing & Transition
The day ends with quiet play or a brief group moment before heading home. This gentle closing helps children transition smoothly from school to family time.
